This guide describes how to log into your new linux server for the first time.
All our servers come with SSH enabled by default, running on default port 22.
To login to your server, you will need to has an SSH client. A popular one is Putty and can be found here: Download PuTTY
To login via SSH we need to obtain the following 3 pieces of information:
- IP Address of the server
- Username
- Password
To obtain the above, perform the following steps:
- Login to your dashboard.
- You will be presented with a list of your current servers. Click on your server.
- Your will find your Main IP address and Root Password there
- Your username is: root
TIP: To PASTE into putty simply copy the text you want to paste, then do a single mouse right click within the putty window
With the above information you will now be able to login to your linux vps with any SSH client.
